Fool-Proof Healthy Chili

Tis’ the season for warm bowls of chili. Nothing is better than coming home from a long day knowing that you already have dinner waiting for you. This recipe is so easy that anyone could do it! The slow cooker will do all the work for you and before you know it you have a delicious, healthy meal. Enjoy this fool-proof chili recipe that is perfect for this time of year!

You Will Need:

  • 2 cans diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 2 cans mixed beans (15 oz)
  • 1 can tomato paste (6 oz)
  • 3-4 cups chicken broth (depending on desired thickness)
  • 1 white onion
  • 2 red peppers
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper


Start your chili by dicing a white onion and cooking in a pan until onion becomes translucent. Once onions are starting to brown, add diced garlic and ground turkey. Cook for approximately 5 minutes until the turkey is cooked through and slightly golden brown. Add the cooked turkey, onions and garlic to the crockpot with the rest of the ingredients. Keep this mixture in the slow cooker for 4-6 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low. Top this healthy chili with cheese, sour cream, chips and whatever other toppings you desire!
